About Jen & Jones
Two planners, one studio above a Bingham side street, and a conviction that the best celebrations are the ones nobody realises were arranged at all.
Two weddings, one idea
Jen & Jones began in 2018, after Jennifer Lane planned her sister's wedding in a borrowed field outside Radcliffe-on-Trent and Naomi Jones, then managing events for a Nottingham hotel group, kept appearing at the same supplier warehouses. They discovered a shared philosophy: that careful preparation should feel like kindness, and that the Midlands deserved a studio as considered as anything in London.
In 2021 the studio settled at 27 Derry Lane in Bingham, a small Georgian terrace where couples still come to talk plans at the kitchen table, often staying far longer than the appointment.
Today the studio plans a limited number of weddings each year across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and the Vale of Belvoir, alongside milestone parties closer to home.
What we believe
Four principles run through every plan, sketch and supplier call the studio makes.
Restraint
The most beautiful detail is often the one removed. We edit relentlessly so that what remains has room to be noticed and remembered.
Honesty
Clear budgets, plain advice and suppliers chosen because they are right for your day, not because they suit us. If something will not work, we say so early.
Place
A wedding at Belvoir Castle should not look like a wedding in a city loft. We design from the venue outward, and from the seasons of the East Midlands inward.
Calm
Our couples should feel the day, not manage it. Every plan we write is really a promise: that someone capable is holding the threads.
Craft
From hand-tied ribbon to the order of the toasts, we sweat the small things because the small things are what guests carry home.
People
Great suppliers make great weddings. We nurture long friendships with the florists, caterers and musicians of the region, and it shows on the day.
Why Bingham
Bingham sits where the Trent Valley meets the Vale of Belvoir, within half an hour of more good wedding country than almost anywhere in the Midlands. To the east, the stone villages and castle views around Belvoir; to the south, the halls and parkland of Leicestershire; to the west, Nottingham's farms, barns and marquees.
It is also simply a fine place to keep a studio: a market town with a proper high street, where our couples can meet us between the florist and the bakery, and where half the town seems to have a story about a wedding we have arranged.
