Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies are, how this website uses them, and how you can control or withdraw your consent.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device to remember things between pages and visits. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work in a comparable way. This site uses local storage for one purpose: remembering your cookie consent choice.
The categories used on this site
| Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Essential for the site to function, including the local storage entry “jenandjones-consent” that records whether you have answered the consent banner, so it does not appear on every page. | Until you clear your browser data or withdraw consent. |
| Preferences | None set by us at present. If we add features that remember your choices (such as language), they will be described here. | Not applicable. |
| Analytics | We do not currently run our own analytics cookies. If this changes, they will only be set after you have accepted cookies through the banner. | Not applicable. |
| Advertising | If advertisements served by Microsoft Advertising are shown on this site, Microsoft may set cookies to measure ad performance and to personalise the ads you see, subject to your consent and your Microsoft settings. | Typically up to 13 months, per Microsoft's own policies. |
Embedded Google Maps
Our contact page embeds Google Maps. When the map loads, Google may set its own cookies and process data such as your IP address under its own policies. Google's cookies are covered by its privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
How the consent banner works
The first time you visit any page of this site, a banner appears at the bottom of the screen explaining our use of cookies and offering “Accept” and “Decline” buttons. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key “jenandjones-consent” and the banner will not be shown again on future visits. Declining does not affect your ability to browse the site in any way.
How to withdraw or change your consent
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clicking the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page. This removes the stored choice and brings the consent banner back so you can decide again. You can also delete the stored choice yourself by clearing your browser's cookies and site data for this website.
Browser-level cookie controls
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies entirely through its settings. Be aware that blocking all cookies may affect how this and other websites work. Guidance for common browsers can be found in their help pages: Chrome (Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data), Firefox (Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data), Safari (Preferences → Privacy), and Edge (Settings → Cookies and site permissions).
Changes to this policy
If the way we use cookies changes, we will update this page and, where the change is significant, ask for your consent again through the banner. This policy was last reviewed on 1 October 2026. Questions are welcome at hello@jenandjones.co.uk.
